Help Support Our Community
Make a Difference.
The Early Childhood Collective of Douglas County strengthens early childhood resources through partnerships with community organizations to meet the needs of growing families. We empower the missions of our partner organizations with funding and programmatic support, effectively identifying and closing resource gaps for families in our community. We believe it’s everyone’s responsibility to champion early childhood resources so families with young children have what they need to thrive.

Birth is the mother of all relationships. From the moment we take our first breath, we are enveloped in the arms of those who love and care for us, forming the foundation of our understanding of trust and affection. These early relationships set the stage for a lifetime of interactions, teaching us about empathy, compassion, and the importance of human connection. Doulas honor the sacredness of birth and the human connections that it fosters. They recognize that every birth experience is unique and deserving of compassion, respect, and personalized care. By supporting families during this critical time, doulas help to lay the groundwork for a healthier, more connected future, one birth at a time. Doulas of Douglas County proudly supports Black birthing families by providing both emotional and concrete support during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum phase. Your support for Doulas of Douglas County not only uplifts individual families but also contributes to a broader movement for equity and justice in maternal healthcare. Click HERE to DONATE

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Douglas County Reading provides a time and space to become curious. Reading ushers in opportunities to co-create and imagine. Reading together facilitates a conversation about what we experience together in the stories we share. This prescription – curiosity, creativity, and conversation – teaches our children to heal from the pain of disconnection. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails enrolled children an age-appropriate book each month from birth to age 5. The local Imagination Library’s Leadership Team publishes a monthly newsletter to parents with young children enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to encourage and support positive parent child relationships leading to success in school and in life.
